SWEET NORTH CITY COTTAGE

Nestled under a stately tree canopy in the Fountain of Youth neighborhood, this sweet North City cottage has more than one surprise in store for you. Watch your garden grow from the shady front porch and get acquainted with the neighbors the old-fashioned way.

On the other side of the beautiful front door lies a traditional living/dining room combination with diffused sunshine streaming in under the window canopies. The honey-hued bamboo flooring continues into the front bedroom.  A sunny room, it opens to the main bathroom shared by the master in the center of the house. Retaining a period look, the new tiles with black insets are reminiscent of the 20s and the cast iron sink is an original.

The first surprise is the generous kitchen. Measuring 14’9 x 11’5 with a 4’2 x 6’5 alcove, you can create the type of workspace your culinary muse has been dreaming about and still have room for all the armchair cooks who come to offer their advice. A handy half bath is nearby for easy access.

Ballard Avenue is a single block running perpendicular to Magnolia Avenue – known for its extraordinary canopy of live oaks (yes, there are some magnolias too!) and the Fountain of Youth which some of you may remember from summer holidays.
