SWEET COTTAGE

Built in 1986, redone completely in 2010-2011 by a New England craftsman, this sweet little cottage is an easy weekender/vacation rental home with an emphasis on fun and minimum effort on the maintenance front. House sits on a 30 x 61 lot and comes with a vacant lot with parking pad and garden shed. A pavered patio under a pergola is your outdoor living room almost all year round – an ideal place for morning coffee to get you going and then evening cocktails while you reflect upon the day.

Inside you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the size of the living room and the easy flow. Great wall space for furniture placement and beadboard wainscot adds nice detail. Master up front with a south and east exposures providing soft natural light. Tucked behind double French doors, there’s another single door opening to short hall and shared bath. 2nd bedroom at the back has same semi-private hall access to the bathroom. Tiled kitchen was designed to accommodate a table for 4-6 on the west wall under the window. No worries about prep space because there’s plenty of deep countertop area to handle whatever you need. Cabinets below and open shelves above will display favorite dishes and glassware within easy reach. Step out the back door onto the pavered open patio with a privacy fence on two sides. It’s a good home for the grill and a bit of container gardening but you can spill out the additional lot next door when the gatherings are large.

Moore St is a single block between MLK Ave and Riberia St and you can head in all four directions for all kinds of neat stuff. Within 2-4 blocks you have the amazing Ice Plant for innovative food and drink, the Blue Hen for rocking breakfasts and lunch and add a couple of blocks to the north in the heart of the city with all the downtown action or go south on Riberia and picnic in Eddie Vickers Park.
